I don't want to be ripped off! Now is a good time to be selling gold–the prices are so high!

They will buy off you according to the current rate of gold. Check the rates too and go to several before deciding to get the best offer. Just be sure you are not cheated into getting less.

I build new houses and remodel existing ones to own and rent out. During the construction process I have expenses uncommon to managing rentals. Even though I take no salary and do as much work as possible on each project, we still have a negative cash flow. After adding up the losses and deperciation, it offsetts my wifes income so we get all of her taxes back. Based on rental rates in our area, we calculate that it will take about 3 years for a property to break even. So we should be turning a profit in tax year 08. To take full advantage of the tax code while depreciating the buildings and then selling them in the future, Is there an advantage to holding these properties as personnel investments or should I form a business that builds and manages real estate?

It sounds to me that if your formed a business, it would be a sole proprietorship. If that is the case, the business income would be declared on schedule C of your personal income tax form.

When a country becomes rich, it's citizens become more mentally and physically lazy, obesity and crime become more prevalent.
When a rich countries citizens have no problems, they cease to be productive.
Will rich societies be overtaken by poorer ones that are continously inventing, solving and creating solutions?
Look at what is happening to the US, it is imploding. Look around.

That's why most of the Empires fell!!!

I have a jar of coins that i have been collecting for about the last 10 years. Would it be beneficial to examine the coins for rarity for someone that does not know much about coins, or just to cash them in. What are my chances of finding something of value. I have noticed many older coins from the 60's.

YES, it would be worth examining them !! If nothing else, check the quarters… anything prior to 1965 will be SILVER instead of alloy and is worth more that 25 cents.

A few years ago I dumped out my 5 gallon water jar of change and found 42 SILVER quarters along with a number of buffalo nickels
